Joke of the Week:

Q: Why did the face mask go to therapy?

A: Because it had too many layers to peel back!

👀 What did I buy this week?👀

Don’t tell Cameraman!

New Releases Coming Soon:

Looks like Drunk Elephant is finally releasing a vitamin c derivative brightening serum.  This is good because their C-Firma Serum is a clear loser (for me at least).  This new option contains two derivatives as well as additional brightening ingredients.  Looks like it is due to be released at the end of the month!

This new release is showing a continued price increase for Paula’s Choice, coming in at $68 for one ounce!  Looks like they are getting into the Retinal game with this release.  Also contains Adaptinoid which is a new generation of Retinoids made famous first by SkinFix.  Curious about this one but the price tag is STEEP!

Boy, these seem to be catching on and people everywhere seem to be using deodorant everywhere. I would have to say Lumi is the first brand I’ve really heard of making these, but in the past few months it seems to be catching on with Shea Moisture, Dove Beauty, and FAB all getting into the market. I have yet to try any of these so if you have given them a try let me know what you think of them!

Milk Makeup is getting into the tubing mascara trend. If you’ve ever tried a tubing mascara you must know just how different these are from traditional mascaras. Seems like a lot of people have great luck with this type of mascara because of how it lengthens, curls, and volumizes lashes. Not sure how this will compare to my Holy Grail, Thrive!

About the Dogs

This week, Ike and Lincoln had a great adventure up at the cabin, enjoying the fresh air and beautiful scenery of the north woods. They loved exploring the great outdoors, with plenty of room to run and play. Despite his shoulder still bothering him, Ike toughed it out like a champ, making the most of his time in the wilderness.

Meanwhile, Gabby stayed home with Cameraman's brother, preferring the comforts of home over "roughing it" up north. She enjoyed the extra attention and pampering, making the most of her one-on-one time. Even though she missed out on the cabin fun, Gabby was perfectly content to stay cozy and relaxed at home.

Winner of the Week - Floating Tank / Sensory Deprivation Tank / Isolation Tank

I’ve done this three times now and I’ve found this to be extremely helpful for myself for many reasons! A Floating Tank is essentially a large tank or tub filled with thousands of pounds of epsom salts. Epsom salt has health benefits for the body, muscles, and even skin. The epsom salt gives the water a buoyancy that allows the entire body to float without risk of drowning. Typically these tanks are in dark rooms so one can become completely relaxed. I find floating has helped with some of my back pain, gives my skin a beautiful rosy glow, and is great for stress relief! Highly recommend checking it out for yourself!

Loser of the Week - Bonesmashing

The bizarre and dangerous beauty trend known as bonesmashing. When I first heard about it, I thought it had to be a joke. Unfortunately, it's very real and incredibly concerning. Bonesmashing involves hitting your face with a blunt object, like a hammer, to reshape your bones for a more chiseled appearance. This trend is not only ineffective but also extremely harmful, causing serious injuries such as broken bones, damaged teeth, and nerve damage. It's heartbreaking that people feel compelled to resort to such extreme measures for beauty.

I made a video all about the dangers of bonesmashing, but apparently bonesmashing isn’t as popular as cat videos! 🤣 If you’re curious, you might find it interesting, but no biggie if you don’t. Stay safe, and remember, your worth isn’t defined by dangerous beauty fads!
