👀 What did I buy this week?👀
Don’t tell Cameraman!
About the Dogs
This week, our furry friends had their own little adventures! Gabby got a fresh new haircut from the groomer. While she absolutely loves car rides, the groomer is definitely not her favorite place. But now she’s looking sharp and ready for more car trips.
Lincoln, on the other hand, decided to be a bit mischievous. He spent his time at Grandpa’s house digging massive holes in the woods. Thankfully, the damage was contained to the forested area, so no harm done to the yard!
Ike had a blast with my makeshift Rube Goldberg contraption to help him get into the back of the car, since he’s too heavy for me to lift. It worked like a charm, and Ike seemed to enjoy the process. I think it's safe to say that everyone, including the dogs, is happy that Cameraman is back home!
Winner of the Week - Adapinoid
Adapinoid is the newest third-generation retinoid and is a precursor to adapalene. In the United States Adapalene is considered an over-the-counter drug, and made famous by Differin. Differin has been found to be an almost miracle worker for acne and clogged pores. Adapinoid has been found to be more gentle, yet more efficient than Adapalene. That being said, most of this research has been done by the manufacturer. Adapoinoid promises to do the following:
Reduce Breakouts and acne
Exfoliate dead skin cells clearing skin
Help with inflammation in skin
Prevent clogged pores
Assist with wrinkle reduction
At this point there are only two products featuring this ingredient: Skinfix Acne+ Adapinoid Gel with Niacinamide and the Paula’s Choice Clinical Pro Retinaldehyde Dual Retinoid Treatment. I have extensively used the Skinfix and really enjoyed it. At this point I’ve only tested the Paula’s Choice option and so far my skin does not like it (but I am committed to trying again). The Paula’s Choice seemed to do the opposite of what I was expecting- red, swollen, broken out skin. Although only one application is not enough to judge any product. I look forward to more adapinoid options in the near future!

Loser of the Week - Plasma Devices -
It seems like plasma technology for skincare is an ever evolving science. With this said, if you are debating doing a plasma treatment to your face please do more research on this treatment! It seems that more people are dissatisfied than happy after completing this treatment.
Out of the thousands of plasma devices on the market (even some of the pricey ones) most are not plasma at all: they are instead electric! I was even fooled into buying what I thought was a plasma device called the Plamere Plasma Pen. Thankfully after a couple patch tests in inconspicuous areas I realized if I used this on my face it would scar my face instead of inducing beneficial collagen production. True plasma technology should not leave brown dots on your face, instead it should be leaving small skin colored dots that heal quickly. At this point I am only aware of a couple of “true” plasma devices: Plaxel+ Plasma Pen, Subnovii Plasma Pen, and the Jet Plasma Pen. Obviously this short article is over simplifying a very complex topic so more information on Plasma devices can be seen here:
