Made Me Laugh

Juicy Beauty News

👀 What did I buy this week?👀

Don’t tell Cameraman!

Comment of the Week:

Thanks for the info. I just received an order from the line, VT GLUCA MUNE ESSENCE and the CREAM. Would you please review them. I’m thinking about getting the Toner too. It’s excellent on my dry, sensitive, dehydrated skin. I noticed a difference the first time I applied it!❤

@NOBSBeauty You've made the comment of the week for my newsletter!

Ooh nice- it is a rare find when you use a product that gives you fast results, I've only experienced that a few times so I'll have to check it out.  I'm going to discuss a handful of products that gave me near-instant results.

There are a few products that gave me near-instantaneous results when I used them. Most skincare products and ingredients take weeks or months to have benefits but occasionally there are ones that quickly blow me away.  These products are:

  • Geek & Gorgeous Apad Serum

Within a week this helped calm the redness on my face as well as helped brighten up my skin and help fade the melasma and hyperpigmentation.  This one gave me noticeable results in about one week.

  • SkinMedica TNS Advanced Serum

This one is expensive, but after using it I understand why.  Within a couple of uses my skin was noticeably less wrinkled and fine lines dissipated.  I’m not sure the benefits of this were noticeable to anyone else, but for me looking in the mirror became a little easier (unless you turn it to the 15X magnification side)!

  • Timeless Vitamin C Serum

This was one of the first vitamin c serums I had ever used and I was impressed with the results.  I’ve since moved onto the Geek & Gorgeous C Glow Serum for several reasons, but the Timeless helped brighten up my skin in such a huge way.

  • Paula’s Choice Clinical 1% Retinol Serum

This was the very first retinoid product I’d ever used and it really helped to firm up my skin, lessen the appearance of fine lines, and give my skin an overall glow that it had been lacking.  These days there are other retinol products I prefer (The Ordinary, Geek & Gorgeous, Skinfix).  This one was a great retinol starter product which kept my skin hydrated while skin acclimated to retinol.

Winner of the Week - Beauty of Joseon

July marked a milestone for Beauty of Joseon, the Korean skincare favorite renowned for its glow-enhancing and sensitive skin friendly products.  They've officially launched in 600 Sephora U.S. stores.  This launch offers online and in-store access to fan-favorite items like the Ginseng Cleansing Oil, Rice Milk Toner, Ground Rice & Honey Glow Mask, and their brand-new Day Dew SPF 50 sunscreen.  Unfortunately I WILL NOT be purchasing this new sunscreen.  I grew to love their other sunscreen products but there is no way I’m going out of my way to spend money on more sad and pathetic American sunscreen filters.

Beauty of Joseon’s Sephora launch signals more than just shelf space - it showcases the rise of K‑beauty through strategic partnerships, innovative products, and affordability. Whether you're a glow serum devotee or love their prices, now is the perfect time to explore what the brand offers in the K‑beauty mainstream.

It’s hard to believe how far K-Beauty has come since Dr. Jart made history as Sephora’s first Korean brand over a decade ago.  In the last decade many K-Beauty and Asian Beauty brands have come and gone while Dr. Jart has been a mainstay the entire time.  While it is exciting to see more affordable brands launch at Sephora, I’m just bummed their Korean formula sunscreens won’t be able to be a part of the lineup.  Come on FDA… do something!!!!!!

Loser of the Week - Cos de Baha

What is going on with this brand?!?  I used to be able to reliably purchase any Cos de Baha products I wanted, but lately, I’ve had a hard time finding any of them. Some of that’s on me—I know better than to run out of my favorites without a backup. I got a little too comfortable with how easy it was to grab their products from iHerb, Amazon, or YesStyle.

Interestingly, Cos de Baha’s official website has been taken down, replaced with a vague message promising that “something better” is coming soon. With the site offline and most of their products disappearing from online retailers, it raises the question: what’s really happening with the brand?

At this point, it looks like Cos de Baha might be shutting down entirely or facing major supply chain problems. Either way, it’s probably time to start hunting for a new hyaluronic acid to mix with my copper peptides.
